About Us

Textmission was founded in March 2009 by Sandra Schindler and Kathleen Schramm. Both received their degrees in translation from the Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translational Studies (IALT) of the University of Leipzig.

Sandra Schindler studied translation for English, Italian and Spanish with the complementary subjects law and civil engineering. She participated in the European Erasmus student exchange program, which enabled her to be a student at the Scuola per Interpreti e Traduttori in Forlì, Italy, and at the Universidad CES Felipe II in Aranjuez, Spain. After successfully finishing her studies, she moved to Dublin, Ireland, to work as Marketing Executive and translator before she returned to Germany and settled near Kaiserslautern, Germany. Sandra mainly works as a translator, editor, proof-reader, language trainer and project manager. In June 2010 she became a member of the federal association of interpreters and translators, BDÜ Rhineland-Palatinate. She was sworn in as a translator of the German bundesland Rhineland-Palatinate for English, Italian and Spanish in October 2010 and can issue certified translations. Sandra mainly works for publishing houses. Her other areas of expertise include business and economy (with a special predilection for marketing), advertising, the arts and social studies as well as biology (especially limnology), food and nutrition, education, art and media and law.

Kathleen Schramm provides expert translations in German, English and Spanish. While in school, she spent one year as an exchange student in Detroit, Michigan, and later studied at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain. Kathleen has several years' experience in translation and technical documentation. During the 2006 Soccer World Cup she acted as a contact person for foreign guests. She has also worked as an interpreter in David Copperfield shows. Her areas of expertise include law, architecture, automobiles and medicine.
